Statement on Social Justice Commitment
The CUNA Mutual Group Foundation is committed to equity.
We stand against racism and stand for social justice.
We are intentional and strategic with our investments.
systemic change in underrepresented and marginalized communities.
We are the CUNA Mutual Group Foundation.
We are living in a time where working together is more important than ever, and it is why our commitment to supporting our communities through the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis is unwavering. Foundation leadership is monitoring this situation and continuously working to ensure that we support one another in every conceivable way. Earlier this year, the CUNA Mutual Group Foundation matched more than $200,000 in employee donations to organizations across the United States – an impact totaling $402,000. The Foundation Board intends to review requests related to the ongoing needs around COVID-19 through the end of 2020.

Community Giving / Grant Request
The CUNA Mutual Group Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) and is the philanthropic arm of CUNA Mutual Group. Efforts of the Foundation center around building equity in the communities we live in and serve. Knowing we can help even more people through intentional community outreach, we focus on three (3) areas of the greatest need – economic security, education and emergency aid – to help address the racial and socio-economic disparities that exist in our communities – and, most importantly, keep people from getting ahead financially.
Grant investments made through the Foundation must align with the organization’s mission to advance economic stability and support the sustainable development of the communities where our offices reside, as well as the communities we serve.
The Foundation also actively supports and participates in the credit union movement, embracing the cooperative philosophy of “people helping people.” Visit our Corporate Social Responsibility pages to learn more about our impact in the communities we live and work.

Please note that the regular review cycle for grant submissions has ended. For COVID-19 and other emergent grant consideration requests, applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis and by the Foundation Board.
