Grant & Sponsorship Requests

The CUNA Mutual Group Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) and is the philanthropic arm of CUNA Mutual Group. Efforts of the Foundation center around building equity in the communities we live in and serve with a focus on three (3) areas of greatest need to help address the racial and socioeconomic disparities that exist in our communities – and, most importantly, that often prevent people from getting ahead financially.

Our three focus areas:

  • Economic security
  • Education
  • Emergency aid

Please note the following requirements:

  • Requests must align with one of the three focus areas
  • Cannot be associated with a congregation or political organization
  • Grants and Sponsorship investments made through CUNA Mutual Group and its Foundation must align with our organization’s focus on equity and our three focus areas

What is the difference between a Grant and a Sponsorship?

Grant: a gift from the CUNA Mutual Group Foundation which allows us to receive named recognition but no other benefits from our financial support.

Sponsorship: a contribution from CUNA Mutual Group that may provide us with named recognition, marketing/advertising opportunities, admission to events, etc.

Please ensure you apply for the appropriate program.

Visit our Giving Back page to learn more about our impact in the communities where we live and work.

2022 Deadlines and Timelines

In 2022, we have decided to return to a single form for all grant and sponsorship requests. You will still need to select the funding program (grant or sponsorship) that best supports your request, but we hope that having one form will continue to keep our process simple.

The Corporate Social Responsibility team will review requests on a continuous, rolling-basis. Please apply early for best consideration, however grant applications must be received at least 30 days before the meeting in which it will be reviewed.

Foundation Meeting Dates* for 2022 are as follows:

  • February 21
  • April 11
  • June 8
  • September 13
  • November 1

Please note that clicking below will take you to an external platform (YourCause). If you have not used YourCause before, you will need to create an account.

For all questions, please contact the Corporate Social Responsibility team.

*A member of the CSR team will be in touch within 30 days after each meeting.
