Diversity & Inclusion

Embracing differences and promoting equity is one of our founding principles. Like the credit unions and communities we serve, we know we’re stronger when we leverage the diverse backgrounds, skills, knowledge and perspectives of our customers, vendors and employees.

We’re passionate about:

  • Holding our people accountable to promote diversity and inclusion in all teams and partnerships

Creating an Inclusive Culture

When it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter what we say; it matters what we do and how we do it. That’s why we take steps every year to make sure our organization is even more inclusive. We run a supplier diversity program to provide opportunities for businesses owned by diverse groups, partner with historically Black colleges and universities to increase awareness of CUNA Mutual Group as a potential employer of choice, and offer a robust diversity and inclusion learning series for all employees as well as flexible schedules whenever roles allow.

From adding additional benefits for new parents and transgender employees, to ensuring we select candidates from a diverse pipeline, we are committed to embracing and developing a deeper understanding of attributes that make each of us stand out.

Employee Resource Groups

We provide a wide variety of events and resources to inform, educate and engage our employees in issues related to diversity and inclusion. Through our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), we provide employees with similar backgrounds, lifestyles and passions to connect. These employee-led groups promote the personal and professional development of a diverse and inclusive mindset. ERGs support our business goals and help drive the company forward.
