With the enacted Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 (HR 4872), the Federal Family Educational Loan (FFEL) Program has been eliminated and transitioned to the Federal Direct Lending Program effective July 1, 2010.   Private lenders no longer have a role in originating or funding federal Stafford, PLUS, or Consolidation loans.

Great Lakes will remain the guarantor and servicer of loans secured prior to July 1, 2010.  For credit union/borrower questions related to an existing federal loan, contact or direct members to the appropriate area from the contact information below:
