CMFG Ventures, the venture capital arm of CUNA Mutual Group, announced today it is launching the Fintech Forum, a new online community of credit union leaders, fintechs and industry partners to foster innovation, share knowledge and discuss topics impacting the future of financial services. Through this unique collaboration, credit unions will learn about and have access to solutions that position them to attract new business and grow their membership.

The Fintech Forum will hold its first virtual event on December 9. Chad Collier, CEO of CarSaver, and Ronny Chapman, senior vice president for product technology solutions at CUNA Mutual, will talk about the future of auto buying and its impact on credit union auto lending.

“Tapping into the latest fintech solutions allows credit unions to provide the best service to members and remain competitive,” said Brian Kaas, President and Managing Director of CMFG Ventures. “Through the Fintech Forum, we’re excited to give credit unions greater access to top fintech companies and the latest trends, as well as an environment for ongoing collaboration and learning from peers. Serving 95% of credit unions in the country, we are uniquely positioned to bring this community together and build strong connections between credit unions and fintechs.”

The Fintech Forum will work to identify and match credit union needs and challenges to relevant solutions and provide credit unions access to pilots, demos, research and partnerships to help them remain competitive. Fintechs will also have the opportunity to seek real-time feedback from leaders and build credit union relationships.

In addition to the Fintech Forum, CMFG Ventures is also focused on developing a diverse and inclusive future for financial services, enabling credit unions to live into their mission of reaching unbanked and underbanked communities often overlooked by other financial services providers. In 2021, CMFG Ventures launched the Discovery Fund, investing in underrepresented founders including founders of color, women and LGBTQIA+ founders building the next generation of financial services. CMFG Ventures will showcase many of these companies through the Fintech Forum.

Credit union leaders can sign up to become a member of the Fintech Forum. Membership in the Fintech Forum is complimentary to credit unions.
