Leading Employee Benefits Agency to Help Credit Unions Navigate Complexities of Health Care Reform
MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group is partnering with Digital Benefit Advisors (DBA) to provide resources, expertise and education to help credit unions navigate the complexities of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and employee benefits strategy.
The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Act in 2012, and many of the law’s key elements will take effect in 2013 and beyond.
“Health care reform is changing the way businesses offer and fund employee health plans,” said Brad Pricer, CUNA Mutual Group, senior manager of employee benefits. “Regardless of whether a credit union opts to offer employee health insurance going forward, it will need to take action to ensure it is compliant with the new law.”
When the ACA became law in 2010, CUNA Mutual Group was active in providing credit unions with an overview of the law and its impact. Through this partnership with DBA, CUNA Mutual Group will expand the resources available to credit unions to ensure they understand what’s changing, as well as when and how best to modify their current employee benefits packages accordingly.
DBA is the largest division of Digital Insurance, a leading employee benefits agency specializing in insurance for small businesses and mid-sized companies. Digital is committed to providing customers with accurate, timely information and resources to navigate the ACA. DBA consists of mid-market advisors in local markets throughout the nation, who deliver a hands-on customer experience.
“This partnership is another example of CUNA Mutual Group’s commitment to delivering best-in-class solutions to credit unions,” said Robert Trunzo, president, CUNA Mutual Group Insurance & Financial Services. “Digital Insurance is the nation’s largest and most technically advanced employee benefits-only agency, and their expertise – combined with our focus on individual credit unions – will bring added capabilities to help credit unions address a significant business need.”
Adam Bruckman, president and CEO of Digital Insurance, commented, “Digital is excited to be partnering with CUNA Mutual Group. The two companies are a natural fit in our efforts to bring the best solutions to credit unions across the nation. We will now be able to bring them a broader variety of dynamic, proprietary tools and the ability to effectively navigate the complexities of health care reform.”
CUNA Mutual Group’s employee benefits customers will continue to receive service from the same people they’ve worked with in the past and will have the same method of contact. Educational tools and webinars, as well as new resources will now be available to better meet credit unions’ employee benefits needs.
Credit unions can still access information on the Affordable Care Act, including timelines, legislative briefs, notices and forms at www.cunamutual.com/HealthCareReform. They also can continue to contact their CUNA Mutual Group employee benefits team members with questions.
