Benefits to Policyholders

In 2010, CUNA Mutual Group paid out $1.3 billion in benefits to domestic policyholders and credit union organizations, including claims paid for credit insurance, life and health insurance, the credit union fidelity bond, and accidental death & dismemberment. The benefits total also includes Liberty Mutual auto and homeowners payments, credit union reimbursements, league reimbursements, credit union movement-related donations and support, experience refunds and other products and dividends. Besides financial contributions, our employees directly participate as volunteers and board members in these credit union organizations and reinforce their commitment to the movement by graduating from such classes as the Credit Union Development Educators (CUDE) volunteer program.
