CUNA Mutual July Webinars To Focus on Managing Fiduciary and Director Risks
Sessions Available to Directors and Staff of Credit Union Bond Policyholders at No Cost

MADISON, WI – Credit union board members and staff are strongly encouraged to attend two CUNA Mutual Group Credit Union Protection Webinars to help mitigate fiduciary risks and better understand director responsibilities. The Webinars are designed exclusively for the company’s Credit Union Bond policyholders, which represent approximately 95 percent of U.S. credit unions, and are provided at no extra charge.

  • Director Responsibilities - What every director should know (July 9, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. EDT) The responsibilities of a credit union director are immense and growing more complex every day.  Participants will hear perspectives and experiences to help them better serve members while mitigating personal liabilities.  Credit union board members are especially encouraged to attend, and an evening Webinar has been created to help accommodate their schedules.

  • Fiduciary Risk - A sleeping giant ready to awake? (July 9 and 23, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. EDT) While fiduciary liability is a concept that encompasses liability under ERISA, it is not limited to claims brought under ERISA. Targeted for credit union management, this session will help participants learn what risks they and their employees assume in their capacity as a fiduciary, which will hopefully let a sleeping giant lie.

Credit unions should register online by July 7, through the Protection Resource Center at www.cunamutual.com. Sign-in is required. For the “Director Responsibilities” Webinar, credit unions are encouraged to invite and register board members to attend via a joint teleconference at the credit union. Directors can attend from an offsite location if they are registered individually and provide their name, e-mail address and phone number.

Two days prior to the session, attendees will receive an e-mail with the Webinar link and directions to the online presentation. For questions or problems connecting to the registration, call 800.637.2676.
