CUNA Mutual Group Scholarships Reward Students' Performance
‘Growing in the Right Direction’ Scholarships Top $20,000, Starting with Dane County H.S. Classes of 2008
MADISON, Wis. – In an effort to help area youth grow in the right direction, CUNA Mutual Group is sponsoring an inaugural scholarship program for graduating seniors of Dane County high schools.
CUNA Mutual Group’s Growing in the Right Direction Scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior at each of Dane County’s high schools, beginning with the class of 2008. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student at each school with the goal of helping students succeed in life by rewarding their performance in the classroom and commitment to their communities.
“CUNA Mutual’s Growing in the Right Direction Scholarships reflect our commitment to helping local students succeed and to the communities where our more than 2,000 Madison-based employees live,” said Steve Goldberg, CUNA Mutual’s Director of Community Relations. “More than $20,000 in scholarships will reward Dane County high school seniors for their work in the classroom and their communities, and help them transition from high school to college.”
Qualifying students must exhibit financial need, have contributed to their school or community through volunteerism, show academic promise and plan to attend a 2- or 4- year degree-granting school of higher learning in the state of Wisconsin.
